Teaching My Daughters Confidence

Confidence is something that I cannot stress enough to instill into your children. I really make an effort to teach my girls to be confident. Like many young girls growing up I was everything but confident!  I was extremely insecure and awkward, I actually didn’t step into this confidence until I started blogging. I had to step out of my comfort zone and be shameless. Can I be completely honest this was HARD for me extremely hard. I wanted to share with you some ways I work on teaching my girls confidence.

Let Then Make Small Decisions

Your probably thinking what decisions can a toddler make right? Believe it or not they can make many decisions right now. Obviously, start small, I give the girls options to what they can wear I’ll ask Leah does she want to wear the pink shoes or the black shoes and let her make the choice. This brings confidence in their decision making.

Encourage Them To Do What They Like

Right now Leah is into cooking so I encourage her to cook by letting her come into the kitchen with me. I give her confidence by complimenting how well she uses the whisk or puts different ingredients into them mixing bowl. I take pride in her accomplishments and I want her to do the same.

Show Unconditional Love

This in my book is the most important when building your child’s confidence. I can’t tell my kids enough how much I love them but most importantly I show them. This means they know I still love them even when they write all over my walls, I might not love their actions at all times but the love is always there.

These are just 3 ways you can teach you child confidence but there are many more. Comment and let me know some ways you teach your child confidence!

I totally agree, instilling confidence and unconditional love in your children at a young age is key to true happiness. Allowing them to be who they want to be from within, without influence of the world is vital in today’s society. Your children are beautiful and so are you!
